Adam Brody and Kristen Bell smile for charity; how to dupe Jennifer Hudson's look; a new all-organic skincare line; and Christina Aguilera's newest competition with Paris, Britney, et al
Stars Smile for Charity
Why were stars like Adam Brody and Veronica Mars' Kristen Bell smiling at Sundance last month? To benefit Operation Smile, an amazing nonprofit organization that provides reconstructive facial surgery to children and young adults. For every celeb who stepped in to a special photo booth and flashed their sweetest smile, Philips Sonicare made a $240 donation to fund one surgery. After all the cameras stopped clicking, Phillips Sonicare and the stars had raised $15,000, which is certainly something to grin about. Want to learn more about this cool charity? Steal Jennifer Hudson's Style
Jennifer Hudson is an inspiration for many reasons (chief among them, not giving up after Simon Cowell said she'd never make it on American Idol. But she's also becoming quite a runway trendsetter, as evidenced by her looks on the red carpet lately. We particularly adored the Dreamgirls star's Golden Globes makeup, which was dressy yet not over the top. To steal her look for yourself, pick up a pretty burgundy lipstick (try Stila's Lip Polish in Glaze, which has a nice blend of color and gloss); use a black liquid liner (like Bourjois Paris in Black 21) to create a cat's-eye; and finish it off with some subtle shimmer to your face (try Benefit's High Beam, a pink shimmering lotion that creates a perfect, dewy finish). All products are available at www.sephora.com. Good luck at the Oscars, Jennifer!
We Care
Designer Stella McCartney took the fashion world by storm, and now she wants to do the same with the beauty biz. She's just launched a new skincare line, called Care, which are certified-organic goodies. The designer is a dedicated vegetarian and never uses fur in her fashions, so when she decided to turn to products for face and body, she applied her same, earth-friendly principles. Visit sephora.com to get your hands on stuff like Care's Toning Floral Water, which uses green tea and linden blossom extract, or Gentle Cleansing Milk, with lemon balm and apricot.
Ain't No Other Perfume
If Britney, J Lo, and Paris can do it, why not one Ms. Christina Aguilera? The singer just announced that she'll be creating her own line of scents, although no official launch date has been set yet. The songstress was enthused about her new project, saying "I love trying new things in my music and in fashion. To have a perfume of my own is the beginning of an exciting adventure."
