Could your smile be your ticket to modeling? Plus, news on Reese, a cool way to updo, and more.
Good Cause, Good Product
One of the many reasons we like the Body Shop (besides the environmentally friendly business model, the fun stores, the reasonable prices and, yep, the great products with yummy ingredients) has been the company's work to help end domestic violence, both here and around the world. The Body Shop's newest tactic? Pink lip gloss. At least 75% of the sale proceeds of its special, limited-edition Pink Hi-Shine Lip Treatment (which retails for $11.50) will go toward Stop the Violence in the Home, the Body's Shop's global campaign. The U.S. partner is the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, which helps educate teachers to identify and help victims of abuse. One of the many alarming statistics we learned from the Body Shop is that a shocking one in four women will be the victim of domestic violence at some point in their lives, and domestic violence impacts 275 million children around the world. Searching for the Next Angelina Jolie
Do people tell you what a beautiful smile you have? Then you should enter the Softlips "Picture Perfect Lips" search, where you could win $2,500, a one-year supply of Softlips products, and possibly even become a "parts" model, showing off your winning smile. A panel of judges will decide if you have the best pout. So, what makes a lovely lip? Danielle Korwin, president of the Parts Models modeling agency in New York City and one of the Picture Perfect Lips judges says, "The main things we look for when we're scouting lip models are the lips' shape, the symmetry between the top and bottom lip, the degree of fullness, the natural color of the lips and the texture." She also adds that no one with collagen augmentation need apply. They want a natural, not freaky-fake, pout! Find out all the details, and enter at www.softlips.com.

Reese and Avon
Reese Witherspoon is one of the hottest actors in Hollywood; now she'll add global ambassador and spokeswoman duties to her résumé, working with Avon. She'll represent Avon's beauty brands, as well as serve as honorary chairman of the Avon Foundation, which focuses on breast cancer, domestic violence and emergency-relief initiatives. According to WWD.com, she's already met with women training for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, and said that the role she'll be playing will be "very multifaceted." She will, of course, also appear in ads for Avon products, and be involved in lots of other ways.
