A new study shows that by age 15, daily physical activity is down to approximately 50 minutes during the week, and 30 on weekends, which is a major drop from young kids, who are active about three hours a day. Do you have an active lifestyle?
Yes, I am often running around, or exercising, or just moving in some way.
No, I'm probably about average. Between schoolwork, after-school jobs, and trying to catch up with friends, it's impossible to find time to be active more than that.
Do I Need Breast Reduction?
Dear YM.com,

In the last few years, I've become really self-conscious about the way I look. I'm only 16, but I wear a double D–size bra. Not only do I feel self-conscious about the way I look, but I constantly have an aching back, postural problems and indentions on my shoulders from the straps, plus I can never find shirts that fit! Other than my chest, I'm moderately skinny. Being big-chested has changed the way I look at myself and has caused major problems in self-esteem and depression. Should I look into a breast reduction?

—Miranda, 16

Your situation is not unusual. Many girls who have larger-sized chests often experience the same problems, from having a tough time finding clothing that fits to having bra straps cut into their shoulders. Not to mention feeling as if everyone is staring, even if they aren't! Luckily, these challenges can be overcome.

First of all, if you have not already done so, make sure you go to a great lingerie shop and get yourself professionally fitted for a bra. It's worth doing some research and even making a trip, because a huge percentage of women are walking around with the wrong size bra on, and the wrong fit can actually make you look bigger. A great lingerie saleswoman will not only size you properly, but she can also suggest bras that offer a lot more support, have padding on the straps to help with cushioning and can pick our bras that minimize the look of your chest. Check the local Yellow Pages and make some calls (or ask your mom to do it) to find the right shop. You should be willing to pay a bit more for your bras, but it will be worth it, trust us!

After you get the right bra, your next order of business should be finding some nice tops. Some labels, like Rebecca and Drew (http://www.rebeccaanddrew.com/) actually have button-down shirts that are sized according to your cup, not just small, medium or large. Keep in mind that a great tailor can work wonders, too. He or she can take in areas that are too big and can make your clothing look custom-made (in a good way!).

There are lots of other things you can do, like wearing earrings to bring attention up to your face or playing with patterns and textures on the bottom half of your outfits. Most important, don't just bury yourself under big, baggy shirts; it's not flattering and it won't help out your ego. Keep in mind that just about everyone is self-conscious about the size of their breasts, no matter the size or shape. You're not the only one, so try not to let yourself get down on your bod.

As for breast reduction, that is certainly an option at some point, but keep in mind that it is major surgery, and also that most surgeons won't perform breast reduction until the patient is at least 18 years old. Surgery should be a last resort and something you should only think about after getting some help in the bra and clothing departments. Once you do those things, you should be feeling much better about yourself.
