A new study shows that by age 15, daily physical activity is down to approximately 50 minutes during the week, and 30 on weekends, which is a major drop from young kids, who are active about three hours a day. Do you have an active lifestyle?
Yes, I am often running around, or exercising, or just moving in some way.
No, I'm probably about average. Between schoolwork, after-school jobs, and trying to catch up with friends, it's impossible to find time to be active more than that.

I Have A Ton Of Body Hair!
I'm 13 and I have few hairs on my chest and also a line of hair down my stomach like a guy! I also have a lot of hair on my thighs. None of my friends are as hairy as me — am I abnormal? Also, is it okay for someone my age to get a wax done?

You are perfectly normal. Some people just have more body hair than others, mostly because of genetics — meaning that one or both of your parents probably has a lot of hair, and now that you've hit puberty, you're getting more, too. Waxing is a good solution to get rid of unwanted hair: The hair stays away longer than with shaving, you have less chance of getting ingrown hairs, and the hair grows back thinner. After many years of waxing, some hair will even stop growing back. Waxing can be painful and cause small red bumps where the hair was pulled out, but this doesn't last long. The process goes like this: Wax — either hot or cold — is applied to a patch of hair, and a strip of fabric is placed over the wax. Then the fabric is removed quickly (it's kind of like ripping off a band-aid) in the opposite direction from the hair growth. Cold wax is more difficult to apply, but less messy, and hot wax can really burn your skin if you don't let it cool enough before applying it, so whoever waxes you needs to be very careful. The process needs to be repeated every 3-6 weeks to keep the hair off.

You might also think about bleaching the hair so it doesn't show as much; you can buy bleaching kits at any drugstore. Electrolysis, a process in which electricity is used to zap and gradually weaken the hair follicle, is another method of hair removal, best used on small areas, such as the upper lip or eyebrows. You need to go to a dermatology clinic or skincare salon where they offer this, and it can take 4-6 treatments to get rid of the hair completely.

Just remember that the hair on your body — including spots like your back, stomach, chin, upper lip, and arms — is normal, and has nothing to do with your beauty.
