Can't Get Enough of Chad
Chad! Chad! Chad! What can we say? We just can't get enough of the adorable One Tree Hill star Chad Michael Murray. But we're guessing neither can you. So, instead of keeping all this CMM dish to ourselves, we've decided to share Chad's musings. You don't even have to thank us.
On his love life...
I don't talk about relationships because you have to separate your personal life from work. If I start doing that now, I won't get in trouble later on in life.
On his rabid female fans...
It's really weird to get attention like that because it's never been that way for me. I grew up a nerd who had no friends. I couldn't get a girlfriend and had to date a girl that went to a high school 20 minutes away because she didn't have these ideas that I was a nerd.
On his growing up without a mom...
I had such a great father. He always allowed me and my brothers and sister to set our own goals. If I wanted to be well, if I wanted to be a stripper, he'd probably say no but he has faith that we'll make the right choices, keep our wits about us, and do the right thing.
On playing basketball...
I suck! I don't really play basketball. I'm learning and getting better. I have a double because there are some things I just can't do, but I barely use him anymore except for dunking. I cannot dunk.
On One Tree Hill...
As many times as people say that I'm the star of the show, I don't really feel like that. It's really a great ensemble cast. And our show is like the little engine that could we're not big or flashy but we've got a lot of heart.
On his co-stars...
I didn't read with Hilarie Burton [who plays the confused cheerleader Peyton] or Sophia [who's the seductive Brooke]. But when I heard the name Sophia Bush, I said, "That's a great name. She's going to get the part." We didn't expect James Lafferty to be the right guy for Nate because he's the nicest guy you'll ever meet in real life. Then boom! he turns it on and becomes this raging [jerk].
On A Cinderella Story, in which he stars with Hilary Duff...
I play the coveted Prince Charming. It was a really fun movie to work on. Everyone was young, so we'd all hang out. It was a really tight group.
On his career...
I really want the opportunity to create a character where I can sit back and go "Now, that's not me." That's the main thing I like about Sean Penn. He never plays the same character twice and he's never bad. The man is incredible. If I could at some point, get to the level like that, then I would be satisfied.
