Name: Tyler Hoechlin
Where You've Seen Him: On 7th Heaven, playing Martin, the latest kid to be basically adopted by the Camdens. Since David Gallagher and Barry Watson are no longer regulars, the show needed a heartthrob. Come on, you're not really watching for the morality lessons, are you?
Why We Picked Him: Back in 2002, when he played Tom Hanks' son in Road to Perdition, Tyler was a cute, round-faced kid. Now, at 16, he's, uh, hot. His mysterious grayish eyes give him that intense, brooding look, but he's got a boy-next-door thing going on, too.
Cafeteria Paparazzi: "Last year I went to public school," says Tyler, who is from Corona, CA. "Once, some girl started taking random photos of me at lunch. That was weird. Now I do correspondence classes."
Swing, Batter Batter: Since he was 7, Tyler's played baseball (every infield position except first base), and he has major league dreams. "I have a friend whose brother is a scout for the Chicago White Sox, and they actually started considering me as a prospect. So I've been playing with their scout team in tournaments."
Ah, Brotherly Love: Tyler's younger brother, Tanner, got the call to audition for Road to Perdition. The siblings share an agent, who convinced the casting director to let Tyler try out, too. "When the director wanted to meet me, Tanner went to his room and started throwing stuff and hitting couches. It was months before he liked me again."
