What's Hot This Week February 19, 2008
On Tour:
Jordin Sparks
She sung the national anthem at the Super Bowl, won the Outstanding New Artist award at the NAACP Image Awards, and now 18-year-old Jordin Sparks embarks on a major tour. The American Idol winner will open for Alicia Keys' As I Am tour on all thirty of Keys' shows. That'll keep the already busy Jordin fully booked through June!
TV:
80th Annual Academy Awards Jon Stewart hosts this year's big Oscar telecast, which promises to be fun. Sure, most of the movies nominated are pretty grim, but it's still bound to be an upbeat night, what with the writer's strike finally over and everyone back at work and ready to party. Bring on the fashions!
Movie:
Charlie Bartlett
After being kicked out of a ton of private schools, Charlie Bartlett gets stuck in his local public school, where he gets bullied by his tough peers. That is, until he decides to become his school's "psychiatrist". He sets up shop in the bathroom, listens to his classmates' problems, and hands out the pills he's been given by various shrinks. What an industrious guy.
Video Game:
Jumper: Griffin's Story
Already caught the sci-fi action flick Jumper, starring Hayden Christensen, Samuel L. Jackson, Jamie Bell and Rachel Bilson? Now play the video game, helping Griffin avenge the death of his parents. This action-packed game is available for the X360, Wii, and PS2.
Music:
The Raveonettes Lust Lust Lust
Danish group The Raveonettes' latest album, Lust Lust Lust, is already huge abroad, and finally arrives this week in the U.S. And no wonder they're already a sensation; they mix pop, rock, and more to great effect. Give 'em a listen (and check them live, if you wish, because they're on tour right now).
