Show your support for voting with a stylish tee; Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen team up for a charitable endeavor; an eco-friendly runway show; and more.
Vote Nice
Believe that the right to vote is an incredible gift and want to tell it to the world? Then show your support for the civic process — with a twist. This cool shirt from be present (shown) says "Vote," with the "om" sign in place of the "o." "Om" is supposed to be the sound of the universe, and it is chanted at the beginning and end of yoga practices, which helps people remember that they are part of a bigger world. As be present points out, one voice may seem small, but when we all chant "om" together, our voices can be heard and have greater impact. Check out the be present site at www.bepresent.com to see the shirt, as well as the other cool, comfy, stylish exercise and lounge gear. And, of course, mark your calendars for Election Day, November 4, 2008, and make your voice heard!
Aéropostale's New Charity
You can't live without your favorite pair (or pairs) of jeans, but for homeless teens across North America, finding anything to wear is just one of their many daily struggles. So retailer Aéropostale is launching Teens for Jeans, which will benefit the nonprofit organization Do Something. Through February 10, if you donate a pair of gently worn jeans (any brand is fine) to any Aéropostale location, the store will make sure the jeans are given to a local teen shelter or charity to benefit someone less fortunate. And when you donate, you'll also receive a 20 percent discount on a new pair at the store. To kick things off, Aéropostale donated 10,000 new pairs of jeans and is hoping that by the end of the campaign, 100,000 pairs will be given away. To help raise awareness of this cool event, Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen are featured in a public service announcement about it. Go to www.teensforjeans.com to find out more and to see Rachel and Hayden.
Earth Pledge
What happened on January 31? Thirty top designers (like Marc Jacobs, Stella McCartney, Calvin Klein and Versace) kicked off New York Fashion Week with Earth Pledge's FutureFashion runway show. The designers created cutting-edge, one-of-a-kind pieces with the aim of raising awareness about sustainable, more earth-friendly materials in fashion. For example, using organic cotton, organic wool, corn fibers, recycled fabrics and natural dyes in place of more-pollution-generating materials — all without compromising style. As Earth Pledge's Leslie Hoffman explains: "Sustainable fashion is within reach and need not limit the range and quality of products that designers can offer. By promoting eco-friendly products, we can prove that style and sustainability can coexist — creating market demand and improving our environment and health."

Didn't catch the event? Have no fear, starting February 1, New York shoppers will be able to see some of the cool creations in Barneys store windows, and you can find out more about Earth Pledge at www.earthpledge.org.
Pharrell's Design Aspirations
Singer, producer and clothing designer Pharrell Williams has paired with a luxe label to create an upscale line of jewelry. The multitalented artist and Louis Vuitton will release a collection called Blason (the French word for "coat of arms") in April. WWD.com reports that the collection will include items like a cherub ring, a three-foot-long diamond necklace and more, with prices ranging from about $2,000 to over $620,000! Williams told the publication that next up for him is probably handbags and watches, though there's no word yet on for which brand he'll work with.
