A new survey shows teens' spending on fashion declined nearly 20 percent over the past year. Have you cut back on your discretionary spending recently?
Yes, I realize the economy is not in great shape, and besides, since I'm spending more on gas, I can't afford as much other stuff anymore.
No, I probably buy about as much non-essential stuff as I did last year.

March Fashion News
Jessica Simpson goes dotty; Anna Kournikova does design; a way to show the world you're available; and more.
Dashing Dots
When Jessica Simpson hit the red carpet last year in an adorable Oscar de la Renta white dress with red dots, it reminded us of how much we love the polka dots. The De la Renta dress is out of our budget, but this cute Circle Halter Dress from Forever 21 (shown) is a great bargain option at only $24.80. Like Simpson's frock, it's feminine, with a red belt around the waist, and shows off your arms. To tone down the dressiness, slip a cardigan over it, or put on a jean jacket and a pair of flip-flops. For evening, take a cue from the songstress and don a pair of stylish red heels and some red lipstick to complete the outfit.
Anna Kournikova Has a New Partner
Tennis phenom Anna Kournikova has a new partner on the courts. No, not a fellow pro with a racquet: We're talking about K-Swiss, the footwear company. K-Swiss has hired Kournikova to take the brand to the next level. She'll help with the launch of the new line of fashions, which will include after-tennis gear, yoga duds, and other relaxed casuals, and she'll appear in ads on TV and in magazines.

She'll also consult on the designs. In fact, she's already had the company make a special pink top and matching short skirt for her to wear when she announces their new partnership. Kournikova seems like a natural fit for the K-Swiss line because, according to WWD, she "wears sports clothes 90 percent of the time" and cares a lot about style. "It has to look cute," the athlete said. "Just because you're sweating on the treadmill for an hour, you don't want to look like a wet cat."
Show Off Your Single Status
We've heard about a fun new trend: showing off your single status to the world. The Single Ring from Sweden (a.k.a. the Singelringen), a stylish silver-and-turquoise band meant to be worn on your right hand, alerts the world that you're footloose, fancy-free and loving it. Stars like Josh Hartnett, Monique Coleman, Wilmer Valderrama, and Mario Lopez have been seen sporting the Singelringen, which is actually a stunning piece of jewelry. Visit www.us.singelringen.com to get your very own commitment-free band.
Speedy Speedo
On the swim team and want an edge on the competition? Then thank the folks over at Speedo who announced the launch of the FASTSKIN FS-PRO, which is supposedly the fastest and most powerful lightweight swimsuit ever made. These aren't just empty claims; in fact, top athletes helped development the new suit, including Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps. Because of its low drag results, the FASTSKIN FS-PRO will help swimmers move through the water quickly. If you're not quite as worried about your time, you'll also be happy to know the new Speedo is also water-repellent and quick-drying, so you won't have to walk around in a soggy suit all day at the beach.
Fun with Gunn
Great news, Project Runway fans! Tim Gunn, the charming and witty dean of Parsons who also serves as a mentor to the aspiring designers on the reality series, is going to have his own show on Bravo. Called Tim Gunn's Guide to Style, it will show the debonair dean's kind side: He'll help people get out of fashion jams with his trademark good taste and good nature. It'll air later this year, and we'll be there. Won't you?
